Hi, I usually go by Ein Verne online — it's just an English name I picked years ago that stuck. I like writing; most of what's on my blog ends up being technical notes, mixed with the occasional thought on life.

I have fairly broad interests: books, movies, the odd review or essay — nothing professional, just things I want to remember. Over the years I've also been gradually moving my personal data away from Google's services toward self-hosted alternatives, which is how I ended up running a small pile of self-hosted services.

I moved to Japan for work in early 2023, and started a separate blog to document day-to-day life here. If you're curious about anything Japan-related, feel free to reach out.

I'm also into podcasts, dramas, and occasionally tinkering with gadgets and games. Staying curious — exploring new fields and meeting new people — is probably the closest thing I have to a life philosophy.
